| Consider an hipotetical CVT connecting two conical pulleys with a toothed belt. In order to avoid belt slip there is a toothed flexible spline which is mounted tangentialy on the conical pulley. The spline is fixed to the pulley with a pin in a radial slot. Different positions along this slot will result on different diameters of the spline. |
